Who Are We?

We are a group of Christians in Toronto and would like to share with you the joy and grace we have received in Christ Jesus. We invite you to know and enjoy Jesus with us.

We believe that the Bible is the word of God. The Bible explains the existence of God and proves that Jesus is the Son of God. We respond to the invitation of the Bible and say to you, “Let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires drink the water of life freely.”  (Revelation 22:17) Therefore, I hope you can come, sit among us, and relax and enjoy the hymns and messages.

Every Sunday at 10:00AM and 3:00PM, we gather in North York and York University respectively, including singing (enjoy God in singing, or lively, or lyrical, singing the colorful and romantic life of Jesus) and messages (discussing the life of walking with God through speaking the Bible); at the same time, there are rich courses and activities for children and teen/youth group so that your whole family can enjoy together in God’s house!

In addition, we also have gatherings in English: including adults, college students and teenagers; Chinese brothers and sisters also have various groups, Bible studies, prayer meetings, etc. during the week, please contact us for details.

About Us?

Our Belief

  • We believe that the entire Bible is a complete revelation of God, and every word is inspired by the Holy Spirit. [Romans 16:26, 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:19-21, Revelation 22:18-19]
  • We believe that God is the only Triune God, and that the Father, the Son, and the Spirit are equal and co-exist from eternity to eternity. [Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19, Revelation 1:4-5]
  • We believe that the Son of God, that is, God Himself, became a man, named Jesus, born of the virgin Mary, to be our Redeemer and Saviour. [Matthew 1:20-25, John 1:1,14,29]
  • We believe that Jesus is a true and complete man who lived on earth for thirty-three and a half years and made people know God the Father. [John 1:18, 14:7-11, Hebrews 1:3]
  • We believe that Jesus is the Christ anointed by God with the Holy Spirit, who died on the cross for our sins, and redeemed us by the shedding of His blood. [Matthew 3:16-17, Romans 5:8, 1 Corinthians 15:3, Titus 2:14]
  • We believe that after Jesus Christ was buried, He rose from the dead on the third day; and in resurrection He became a life-giving Spirit, dispensing Himself into us as our life and everything. [1 Cor. 15:4,44-45, Col. 3:4,11]
  • We believe that Christ ascended to heaven after resurrection and was established by God as Lord of all. [Acts 2:33,36, Philippians 2:8-11, Rev. 11:15]
  • We believe that after Christ ascended to heaven, He poured out the Spirit of God and baptized His chosen members into one body; the Spirit of God, that is, the Spirit of Christ, is operating on earth today to convict sinners and regenerate God’s chosen people, becoming members of the body of Christ, that we would grow in life, and be built up as the Body of Christ for His full expression. [John 16:7-9, 1 Corinthians 12:12-13, Ephesians 4:4,16]
  • We believe that at the end of this age, Christ will come back to call up all His members, judge the world, possess the whole earth, and establish his eternal kingdom. [1 Thessalonians 4:15-17, Acts 17:31]
  • We believe that the overcoming saints will reign with Christ in the millennial kingdom; and all believers in Christ will share the divine blessings in the New Jerusalem (the new heaven and new earth) forever. [1 Corinthians 2:9, Revelation 2:26-27, 11:15, 22:17]

Our Position

  • We hold the Bible, but not according to any traditional interpretation, but according to the pure word of God. [2 Peter 1:19-20]
  • We hold on to Christ, who is the living stone, the foundation stone, the head of the body, and the life and reality of the church. [1 Corinthians 3:11, Ephesians 1:22-23]
  • We hold on to the true unity of the Body of Christ. We are not factional, sectarian, non-denominational, or between sects. [Ephesians 4:4, 1 Corinthians 3:4, 1 Corinthians 1:10-13]
  • We stand for the unity of all believers in various places; all believers who have been redeemed by the blood of Christ and reborn by the Holy Spirit, we recognize them as members of the local church. [1 Corinthians 10:17, Romans 14:1, 15:7]

Our Practice

  • We bear witness to the universal body of Christ and try our best to make it manifest in Toronto (1 Corinthians 12:12, 27). We stand on the ground of local unity with all the believers in the locality, and try our best to accept all the believers accepted by the Lord (Romans 15:7).
  • Based on the seven “ones” recorded in Ephesians 4:4-6, we endeavor to preserve the oneness of the Spirit in a peaceful union. These seven “ones” are one Body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of all, who is above all, through all, and in all.
  • We affirm that in one body, there are many members, there are differences in gifts, ministries, and effects (1 Corinthians 12:4-6). Based on this insight, we try our best to perfect the local saints.
  • Since the Body of Christ is universal, we try our best to have good fellowship with all the churches all over the world; especially for practical purposes, fellowship with neighboring churches (Romans 16:16b).
  • We are eager to learn from those churches who experience and manifest the Lord’s blessings in their church life (1 Thessalonians 1:7-8, 2:14a).
  • We strive to remain in the Lord’s recovery on earth. We realize that this recovery includes the recovery of the truth, the recovery of life, the recovery of the experience of Christ, and the recovery of the practice of the church life on a local standpoint.
  • We acknowledge that the Lord has raised up many deacons throughout the centuries. We also encourage the saints to be constituted by the riches of these ministries (Ephesians 4:11,13, 2 Timothy 2:2).
  • We endeavor to accept those ministries that build up the body of Christ and bring benefits to the church in Toronto based on the following understanding: (1) There is only one new covenant ministry for building up the body of Christ. It is “the ministry of the new covenant” and “the ministry of the Spirit” recorded in the Bible (2 Corinthians 3:6-9). But in this unique ministry there are many deacons (2 Cor. 4:1) and many ministries (1 Cor. 12:5). (2) All ministries should be for building up local churches, and the church should not be for ministries (1 Cor. 3:21-23).

Our Administration

  • The administration of the church is local, and it is carried out by a group of elders who are under the head of Christ (Acts 14:23, Titus 1:5). There is a common leadership in the eldership. As the elders strive to submit themselves to Christ the Head, all saints are encouraged to pray for the elders and to be in tune with the leadership of the church (Hebrews 13:7,17).
  • We encourage the saints to seek guidance from the Lord for the Christian life and the life of the church. However, in order to provide the saints with proper support, any activities of the saints that may affect the church life should be fellowshipped with the elders or district leaders. (1 Thessalonians 5:12-13).
  • At present, church life is divided into meeting halls, districts, and small groups. If any saints have needs or desires to change the meeting hall, district, or small group they are in, please have fellowship with the responsible brothers there. Such a practice is not only sweet, but also for their covering and proper introduction to their new place.

Our Life

  • Just as the elders submit to each other and strive to be of one mind, we exhort all the saints to be in harmony with each other, to love each other, and not to insist on their own views, methods and opinions (Ephesians 5:21, 1 Peter 4:8-9, 1 John 4:7).
  • The church in Toronto is composed of saints from many countries with different backgrounds and various church life experiences. Therefore, we encourage the saints to blend into a rich and harmonious church life by blending with each other, instead of insisting or trying to impose their past experience of practicing the church life on the Toronto church here (1 Peter 3:8-9).
  • In addition, we also have gatherings in English: including adults, college students and teenagers; Chinese brothers and sisters also have various groups, Bible studies, prayer meetings, etc. during the week, please contact us for details.

Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that He opened for us through the curtain, that is, through His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
